The Ouseburn in times past was a thriving place of industry with a lot of waterside factorys and other types of business one of which was the Maynards Chocolate factory. The Ousburn is co0ming back to life as a waterside attraction after a lot of clean up work and it is well worth a visit for the pleasant walks that can be done there. ]]> Mon Oct 29 2007 Tall Ships 2005 Newcastle and Gateshead http://watercraftlargeandsmall.fotopic.net/c631083.html Photos of the Tall Ships visit to and departure on the River Tyne at Newcastle and Gateshead Quayside's 25th to the 28th July 2005. Although the weather was bad for the four days especialy on the day of departure the whole of the visit was a great success both in the number of Ships taking part and the amount of Visitors to Tyneside to see the Tall Ships both on the quays and the start of the race to Norway from the River Tyne. On a wet and misty morning on the 28th July regardless of the weather thousands of spectators lined both side's of the River Tyne fronm the Newcastle & gateshead quays up to the peirs at Tynemouth were this photo and the following photo's were taking.
