The River Ousburn is a tributary that feeds into the River Tyne on the Newcastle side of the river.
The Ouseburn in times past was a thriving place of industry with a lot of waterside factorys and other types of business one of which was the Maynards Chocolate factory.
The Ousburn is co0ming back to life as a waterside attraction after a lot of clean up work and it is well worth a visit for the pleasant walks that can be done there.
Photos of the Tall Ships visit to and departure on the River Tyne at Newcastle and Gateshead Quayside's 25th to the 28th July 2005.
Although the weather was bad for the four days especialy on the day of departure the whole of the visit was a great success both in the number of Ships taking part and the amount of Visitors to Tyneside to see the Tall Ships both on the quays and the start of the race to Norway from the River Tyne.
